Any chance of this returning? I know it's been quite some time, it looks like it hasn't been a drop in almost 2 years now.

It appears that the Yubikey Neo (and new Neo-N) are now being sold compatible with FIDO U2F protocol. Thus, I'd like to see this drop return - all those who were waiting for a Yubikey Neo, now is the time! Those made prior to Oct 1, 2014 are NOT upgradable nor support U2F, so we need to makeit quite clear that we only want FIDO U2F compliant Neos for the new drop.
Hopefully these can be provided at a considerable discount through the drop. They're really a fantastic, usable, Free and Open Source security token and with the latest Snowden reveals (namely, that the NSA and friends has been weakening local and foreign encryption / security standards and programs) we need all the help we can get.
Edit: and for password management, I suggest KeePass ( http://www.keypass.info ) or PasswordSafe ( http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/ ) Personally, I don't trust anything that isn't Free and Open Source Software as well as under my local control, when it comes to personal information security. There's always a trade off between security and convenience and while few people likely really need the "offline only system with a 1 time pad" level solution, we've given far too much trust to the "cloud" in my opinion, and anyone who has been paying even the least amount of attention should know that's a bad idea. There are compromises that show a user takes their privacy seriously and gives it a considerable boost without requiring too much to be given up in turn.
Lets hope we can get this drop arranged...or do we need a new vote for this "version"?

EricssonYubiKey recommends both LastPass and Password Safe. I've personally used it with LastPass and it works quite well, but I would assume Password Safe works just as well.

Can someone confirm that the NEO being sold here will work with U2F? The MD description says "First authentication device to comply with Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) requirements", but the product page at http://www.yubico.com/products/yubikey-hardware/yubikey-neo/yubikey-neo-u2f/ says "Yubico expects to have U2F compliant YubiKey NEOs available for the public during 2014."

...so, I thought this would support U2F. Turns out that's only a future generation of the NEO, due out next year, with no upgrade path. Boo. Looks like it's not possible to back out of a drop?

CharlesDuffyYou have to contact support, but they will remove you from a drop if you request it.

Unfortunately everyone that I know that needed/wanted a NEO when the original vote happened already have bought one but I just wanted to comment that this product has even more functionality than before!
You can now use your yubikey NEO in combination with a smartphone to generate a OATH codes, in other words where you could use google authenticator before you can now use the NEO instead. Since all the credentials are store on the NEO and not the phone it is not susceptible to malware like google authenticator and can be moved between devices much easier.
More info here: http://www.yubico.com/2013/09/yubikey-neo-oath-applet/

pglodThey will be back, but we are just rotating the products right now, since the NEO was the 2nd choice on the poll that is linked to this drop. Best way to get more YubiKey drops going is to share this product page with your interested friends: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/yubikey-standard and tell them to hit the "Request" button to the right.
Thanks!
