Thanks NinjaPirate. I appreciate you taking the time to compare them and leave your impressions here. Did you hook them up to your Lyr as well? If you did, I'd love to hear your impressions of that too. If not, no problem. Have a nice weekend.

WhitetritonI only have the stock JJ tubes with Lyr and I found it to have slightly less detail when compared to the Ember (with the Telefunken tubes). Even then the difference isn't huge, discernible but not dramatic like switching between different headphones. I think a lot of people feel amplifiers and DAC's sound vastly different from one another, I personally haven't found that to be the case (I have to add that I am not an audio professional, nor do I have much musical talent/training).
