I have recently purchased a Yulong d100mkII DAC / headphone amp. It sounds great. There is an issue with the unit however. I have detected a smell coming from the unit. It smells like hot electronics and soldering. The unit continues to function but emits the smell while it does so. Is this an issue with which any of you are familiar? Is the product going to finally burn out? I had been operating the unit on USB and recently switched to the optical connector just to try it out. Overall the unit does not feel exessivley hot but the smell is quite strong. Are any of you having a smell associated with burn in as you start to operate your units? I have confirmed that I am operating at the correct voltage setting for the power supply.

Thanks for any help you can provide, I really enjoy this product and hope the issue can be resolved.

sharkbearI haven't had any issues of that sort. I definitely would recommend contacting Yulong directly to see what he advises. If it doesn't void the warranty, opening the case and taking a peak inside might not be a bad idea. See if you can find any bulging capacitors or if there's something (a bug maybe?) trapped inside.
