So what is this thing made out of? Something like firm silicon rubber?
DASBOOTZ
Doubleshot plastic around a firm rubber dampener.
Are these compatible with plate mounted Halo True switches?
asahaf
No, Kailh housings use a clam shell design.
Anyone know if they would work with the coolermaster masterkeys pro keyboard?
EnigmaAU
Really, any cherry MX or mechanical switches are compatible.
For anyone considering buying these there are three major points to consider 1 - GMK QMX clips GMK QMX clips are an unashamed rip off of this design, however, they are far cheaper ($40 for 110) and although I have not used zealencio silencing clips they are a near identical clone and therefore I expect the feel is incredibly similar, additionally many reviews which have used both mention a barely perceptible difference between the two. 2 - Feel This is based on my experience with GMK QMX clips but as mentioned they are incredibly similar: I have used the QMX clips on two* keyboards * actually the same keyboard - the corsair K70 (an aluminium plate mounted keyboard) but I used them on it before and after changing the switches from cherry mx brown to zealios 65g I have used both these and O-rings and I want to say from the outset that these clips are MASSIVELY superior, however they do still have a noticeable impact on they key feel. The key feel is slightly softer with the clips but due to the thin, high density rubber material used this does not ruin the key feel like o-rings do. The key travel is also slightly reduced - about 0.7mm. which does impact the key feel, but, surprisingly is not as server as may be expected. 3 - noise Once again the noise retained by these is far and away better than that of O-rings, however the strong clack that many people enjoy on mechanical keyboards is significantly reduced - more so than the rest of the switch noise. As both cherry mx brown as zealios 65g are tactile switches I cannot comment on the effect on linear and clicky switches but the switch noise is more noticeable with the clips equipped, this is not a major issue but I thought that I should make people aware of it as the lubricated switches - such as those in the video shown, have a far less noticeable switch noise than non - lubed switches. Extra - backlighting For anyone worried about back lighting these feature a hole in the frame to allow back lighting light through without any interference, additionally the light reflecting back onto the casing can produce a pleasant back glow effect, particularly on keyboards with black back plates which usually lack this back glow

Zeal also sells a lubricant specially made for zeal switches on his website, it is a little dear - $35 - however it is high quality and lubricating switches makes a huge difference, mechanicalkeyborads.com also sell dismantling tools for cherry style switches which are super helpful
Sounds like a good idea, also you are in luck because corsair pcb’s are relatively tough so there is a little leeway before you damage them
I bought one of these and it's way better than rings. It reduces the sound of the clicks much more and the touch feeling is better too, i highly recommend.
these clips make linear switches feel mushy XD but as advertised they are quite effective in dampening some of the noise
With the release of the <$30 Plate Mountable QMX clips these Zealencios are officially very overpriced. I have both and while they do feel slightly different. It is not worth the price difference whatsoever. Definitely do not recommend these at this price point. However, the QMX clip drop just ended so if you missed out then I suppose this is your only option at the time.

It's good if you are in Europe but shipping costs to the US kill any savings. If I were to order direct from GMK it would probably be more expensive than the Zealencios in this drop.
jake.perrine
novelkeys.xyz based out of the US stocks the QMK clips
Anyone else have this drop become "backordered"? :/
Did anyone else just get a "we're sorry" message applied to the discount on the order or am I hallucinating badly?
I plan on using pandealio (panda housing + zealio stem) switches for an upcoming build. Just curious if these, or any other style clip on dampener, will work with the panda housing.
Dotwad11
Pandas do have an MX style housing, however there have been reports of the exact dimensions being a tad bit different, with smaller switch top holes / wider base...It would seem like Zealencios could fit, but no guarantees as it hasn't been tested by us yet.
I'm new here and wanted to know from where will theese be shipped?outside/inside eu?
Evelinp
I think Canada or the US.
Evelinp
Shipped by Massdrop, so from the US.
Does anyone know how these compare to the GMK QMX clips

I see. Weird how on the page for this drop, said that there would be options on plate mount or pcb mounted clips, though on the next page, there was no said option. So I hope according to what you said isn't true since I have only plate mounted boards haha.
edit: actually on my receipt it said plate mount so I may have forgotten about it. Still curious about the quality between the two clips, but it's not like I'll change my mind and buy zealencios down the line since I plan to get some Topre keyboards later.
pf96
Ive tested them both out. Qmx silences more reduces more travel distance
zealencios silence less but reduces less travel distance compared to the qmx clips
I still have these from the last drop (90-pack) and I'm considering selling them off if anyone's interested (for a discount, of course). I have not used them.

I'm looking for exactly 90, in Canada(Winnipeg)... shoot me a email with price j.cal0187 (at) gmail
jordy.c87
Awesome, I'll send you a msg shortly.
Can get 70 of these for $45 from zealencio's website. And probably won't be an entire month to get to you either.
Grey0
That's the GB price in addition to that, they charge a 4.5% fee and 15$ for shipping and it will be an entire month to get to you either.
Stop spreading fake news.
mixy
Thanks for the correction.
I wonder if these would work well with the K-Type. I guess I'll only know once more hands are available to play around with them...right?
Seacow
These are not compatible with any switches offered with K-Type but if you use your own Gateron/Cherry/Zeal switches then they will fit.
Why does it not provide bottom out damping for OEM/DSA/DCS/SA profile keycaps?
Tyler927
The part of the keycap that touches the silencing isn't low enough on keycaps other than cherry profile and some OEM
How do these compare to the QMX clips from a previous drop? The QMX is almost half the price and has yet to ship, if these clips are better I'd consider it.
Also, I have a Corsair K95 Platinum with Vortex DoubleShot PBT Keycaps, will it work with this keyboard?

Like I want the best i can get but I don't want to spend more money just to waste money lol.
JustFluxz
Ive tested them both out. Qmx silences more reduces more travel distance zealencios silence less but reduces less travel distance compared to the qmx clips
For reducing top out noise any compatible switch works fine. For bottom out noise, you have to have cherry profile keycaps and have south facing led switches. Your Corsair build has neither of those so it only really reduces top out noise. This is for both qmx and zealencio clips
Zealencio clips work with both pcb and plate mount qmx plate mount work with both pcb and plate mount qmx pcb mount only works with pcb mount
Does clip go on top of the switch housing or does it replace the housing? Also does this clip silence the upstroke? I'm not bottoming out so I don't need to silence that, just the upstroke click.

There's a tiny bit of rubber that touches the stem before it hits the switch top. This allows it to silence the upstroke without affection feel as it's a fraction of an mm. :)
Zeal
Huh, it's so small I didn't see it when I looked over them at first! I went back in with a little magnifying glass and I could see it then! Thanks for the reply!
Theres a guy I know that has an old school key board that is intentionally loud. He types really fast, and I think its fun to him. Kinda like motorcycle riders that have really loud bikes; some will publicly say its for safety, but privately its just fun and some just like pissing people off.
It's funny that they make a video demonstrating this product, but the person doing the demo doesn't know how to type.
Tehse are more expensive than the QMX clips.. I want to see a comparison between the two.
skabei
Yes same. I joined the drop for the other and it's estimated ship date is like 2 months from when it ended. If these are better I'll consider using these instead.
Does anyone know anything regarding compatibility/effectiveness with XDA keycaps?
OperatorDom
it def gets the bottom out on mine! XDA PBT blanks here
Would love for this to come back.
mixy
It is back, go have a looksee ^^
I've seen past group buys of the Zealencios come with a removal/installation tool, but I only got the clips in my shipment. Is that normal? Is there a way to get the tool?
1bitwonder
Can confirm I also didn't receive any tool. For installation, they clicked into place when I put on the keycap. Removal was a pain but I used tweezers with sharp ends to get under the clips and pry them off.
10 day shipping within US. Nice.
So I just got these today and have begun installing them. I have the backlit doubleshot PBT keycaps that are sold under various brand names and were recently sold here (not Vortex) in OEM profile, with reverse Gateron switches for everything except the spacebar. Unfortunately, I'm finding that all keys except R4 and spacebar seem to get stuck upon bottoming out. Also, for R1, due to the shorter key, I actually have to bottom out to even reach the actuation point, which gets the key stuck. In other words, they are completely unusable with this keyboard/keycap combination.
With regard to difference in feel, I'm finding it to be far more noticeable than with with o-rings. The travel distance reduction seems to be more apparent, while the bottom out feel is smoother.
Edit: I tried them with Imsto PBT keycaps in Cherry profile and they work fine without getting stuck, so this is an issue with incompatible keycaps. Unfortunately, I don't want to change to a different keycap set. Is there any way to make these work?

ChaoticKinesis
Not really. You'll just need to get Cherry keycaps.
ChaoticKinesis
I think only you have this problem. You shouldnt have this problem with oem keycaps in general but having north facing led switches might be the cause. Are you sure its properly installed? because zealencios only reduce travel distance a bit not THAT much. Honestly, Any keyboard with north facing switches are just a pain
@Zeal I understand these have issues with north-facing switches and cherry-profile caps, as you said here (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/zealenico-silencing-clips/talk/1680724). I'm currently using a pok3r with zealios and tai-hao caps. Am I under the correct impression that these will work, they just won't silence the downstroke? I imagine the same holds true for DSA? A little unfortunate that cherry caps aren't compatible (obviously not your fault), but I'd still love if these worked with my tai-hao or dsa caps!
mattrb
That's correct. Only upstroke will be silenced with oem/dsa profile keycaps.
Zeal
Thanks for the quick reply!
Are these compatible with pok3r rgb...?
D4_f4ck3r
Yes, they are 100% compatible, have them on my Pok3r RGB
Glenerino
Great, thx!!!
So does this remove just under 1mm from the full switch press? Is it overly noticable?
latin00032
It's only noticeable in terms of sound.
latin00032
It removes a tiny bit of pre-travel as the dampener barely pushes the stem down to dampen the upstroke (instead of the stem hitting the switch casing). Bottom out travel dampening depends on keycap selection, and will dampen a bit or not at all (Cherry vs other profiles). Sound dampening is very noticeable though.
@Zeal will these work with installing on keyboard with costar wire stabilisers? If so, how do you get the clip on the switch without it impacting the stabiliser?
Thanks!
