I'm not a smoker, but I still bought this lighter because I like metal objects that have the deeply engraved look and feel and this lighter fulfills that goal wonderfully. It is not engraved of course, but rather stamped (or minted, using the term used in coin world for the stamping process that is also used to produce currency coins, e.g., by US Mint) and it has a good tactile feel when I run my fingers over it. I recently acquired a Zippo lighter insert that will convert the lighter to a pill or Tic Tac carrier/dispenser, so that gives me an alternative option for carrying my lighter.
