@ZMFheadphones So I just got home and I'm trying to put these on my audio-technica ath-a900x. They seem to be too small; should it be this difficult to put it on? I feel weird having to stretch them so much. Oh and I bought the Ori Lambskin for it as you recommended earlier. It looks a good 1 or 2 mm smaller than the original...
Explosive-GoreI am unfamiliar with the pad attachment system on the AT. Here are basic instructions for putting pads on that might make it easier:
The easiest way to attach an earpad is to turn it inside out like you would a giant sock that's hard to get on your foot!  Place the earpad in the position you want it to end up in, and work your way around the earcup with one hand while using your other hand to hold the pad in place.   This same method applies to placement whether putting the earpad on a baffle, attachment ring, or cup.

ZMFheadphonesYour instructions worked great although it does require a bit more stretch than the factory pad; AT just has a traditional lip. Thanks for the advice.

Explosive-GoreWhat did you think of the lambskins on the 900x? I'm contemplating the same switch.

BigCabDaddySo far I really like them. However, the sound signature/response does change a bit when you use them. The mids seem to stand out more, seems to flatten out the curve more with the highs. The imperfections in recordings pops out more (especially in the mids), and the seal with your ear is better than the oem version.

Explosive-GoreDoes it beef up the bass at all? I'm an air head, but I wouldn't mind a little bass from these cans. Either way, my AD900x needs some new pads. I'm just trying to decide on which ones. Based on your experience, I'm contemplating getting the bigger ones.

BigCabDaddyIt does not; it makes the sound signature more neutral (quite a bit of significance actually). I believe the general rule of thumb is lambskin is the most neutral; protein brightens; and cowhide tones down the highs/dampens the brightness. If you want to beef up the lows, stick with protein.
