What’s the sound difference between the suede and leather? Sounds like the suede isn‘t going to be some dramatic change like most velours, but I’m a little lost on the effects of each... and how dramatic the change between perf and solid leathers is.
Probably going to be a M1060 swap, so compared to protein leather pads, what would each offer?
I’m guessing it would be more challenging to describe something relative to the hybrid pads on the HE4XX, and I don’t know that I care enough anyway to swap them now, but having a thicker pad there would be nice, so knowing the effects, at least for future reference is probably worthwhile.

ProfessorPatSo based on this: "The sheepskin in any format will be a little warmer and more natural. The suede cleans up the mid bass a little and has more lower treble, so for a headphone that sounds hot at all it might be too much, BUT suede being non perf will add some low bass."
It sounds like the suede is not for me since I find my treble a little much as is. But, given all of the recommendations for the Audeze microsuede, I'm still curious. Maybe my issue is more that it's peaky, rather than actually hot, and these would even it out? Not sure exactly how these compare to the Audeze pads, nor whether that's a sound I'm really trying to achieve since I didn't care enough to read up on $80 pads that are perpetually sold out. Of course, lambskin is also going to be different from fake leather (which I've always felt is super plasticky), so maybe that's what I need.
It sounds like I should just go solid lambskin, but given the wait time, I'm going to sit here annoyed and second guessing things the whole time if I don't ask.
Any assistance @ZMFheadphones?

ProfessorPatI am sort of in the same boat when it comes to suede vs lambskin. The suede was recommended for my preference (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/zmf-pads-for-fostex-and-audeze/talk/1910616) but the 'slightly accentuated treble' has me in doubt since the highs of the EMU Teaks are prominent enough as they are (in my opinion). For now I have chosen to go for the Ori lambskin but will surely keep an eye on this conversation for any additional info on the suede.

MokumManThat’s the big reason I ask. I never really saw any mention of boosting treble any with the Audeze pads, which these seemed to be aiming for from what I understood before Zach had these ready to go. I didn’t look into it too much, but I assumed with treble spikes already, that would have been a complaint if the Audeze do the same thing.
These do pair up with the low end power descriptions of those though, so I’m curious if the top is actually any different from Audeze now. I’ll likely do the same and just go with lambskin if I don’t hear anything different.
