The case is a JOKE. Very very tight fit. Did you all try to take the case to a fitting room to see it fits properly, so that's my $ 50.00 to trash because I can't store the headphones in them at all. They are T40 RP MK3 modded headphones which were on sale for 100 dollars recently after MIR, so $ 350 for modding and $ 50 for case. Pretty expensive deal. They sound great and a little better than the un-modded T40 RP's but they are very "cranky" head phones and need a good amplifier. Out of all the amplifiers I have, Grace design m9xx seems to have the juice to power them well to unravel there potential. Overall satisfied with modding and quality of the sound but not satisfied with price (does it cost so much to mod a 100 dollar headphone to begin with) and also the size the case...
tbhariSo sorry you don't like the case. The headphones are meant to snugly fit length-wise with the pads at the same position on either side. I like the snug fit as we have never had a headphone damaged in travel because of this. We don't make owner's buy it though, which is why it's always offered as an add-on.
Just like the t40 and any of the xxrp headphones, they do sound better with a good amp as you have pointed out. Modifying these headphones to sound as good as they do takes considerable effort as we have sourced the wood, CNC'd it, constructed the earpads out of our own design, and spent countless hours to get great bass extension and treble linearity along with reducing the distortion innate in these driver enclosures which involves opening the driver enclosure and in many cases replacing parts to match the drivers.
I'm so sorry you don't feel they are a good value, but I really appreciate you trying them out!

ZMFheadphonesI like the headphones a lot. They sound very good. It's worth headphone and one of the best of all the 75 headphones I have so far (list is growing). case is a disappointment though. I can buy a very good case for 33 $ on monoprice.com.

ZMFheadphonesCould you take a picture of the headphones in the case fitting as you described? The headphones definitely do not fit with the pads at the same position on either side in the case that I received. You have to angle one pad higher, which causes the pads to press together in an awkward manner.
Also, a larger case would allow the headphones to fit snugly. That's the point of the foam insert. A protective case really should be large enough to have a foam insert between the headphones (or whatever you put inside) and the hard plastic walls. You can see this idea demonstrated in pretty much all of Pelican's product pics - see attached picture for a full, snuggly packed case that still has room for padding.

I won't have a chance to do so until tomorrow, but I'd be happy to take a picture to show the problems with the case that you've offered here.
