I'd go there in a minute if the water chamber wasn't coated with some kind of grey, chemical-made(as is all non-stick) coating, and they state BPA-free but that's irrelevant. (Why? Because that's just one specific chemical which used to be commonly used in many non-stick consumer goods, now other things are used.) One of the smartest things the Instant-Pot people did when designing their homerun product was to choose a clean stainless steel vessel for cooking. It's why I got one. I'd get this if the circumstances were similar.
kingpingLeach tests are conducted on things like this. You can independently verify yourself if it is a big concern. Which seems like it is, testing is cheap and will give you real peace of mind. That said, I’d trust the products and testing from a corporation of Zojirushi’s reputation and industrial reach over some Chinese made items spec’ed with stainless steel... many types of stainless steel, and who’s grading the steel?
