I can't see buying this for $280, when a ViewSonic XG2401 is $260 brand new, has superior color presets with a similar (if not the same) panel, and offers FreeSync.

Medionwe are not the cheapest brand out there, especially vs viewsonic, but pros do prefer our monitors. On paper, you may see a bunch of products with "superior" specs, but ours tend to be more reliable and have features the pros prefer like the black equalizer, etc. To each his own. Happy gaming :)

ShaneJShane, forgive me, I understand you're a rep from BenQ and as such, you need to tow the company line. Also, I'm a fan of BenQ. The EW2750ZL was the best budget monitor that I've ever used. I'd buy another revision of it if you put basic FreeSync in it (40-60hz is fine, 30-75hz preferred).
But this:
> but pros do prefer our monitors
Your monitors are lined up at these events. The pros use what they're given. As much as I like some of them, BenQ's consumer monitors have horrid out of box calibration. Black equalizer is in nearly every "gamer" focused monitor today. And they offer no inherent advantage over brands like ViewSonic, such as in input lag, response times (real world or advertised), or other features.
When it comes to ViewSonic vs. BenQ, right now anyway, it's BenQ viewed as the budget alternative, not the other way around.

EDIT: The below post is in response to a now deleted post by Shane from BenQ.

Shane,
You are an employee of BenQ. I just want you to know that brow beating customers (yes I'm a BenQ customer) on the internet is not a good look for you. You may want to dial it back. Also, your claims are very easy to debunk.
> Our black equalizer, our 1ms response time, and our eye care out perform the competition.
Black equalizer and eyecare are just settings that alter an output, either gamma/contrast (black equalizer), or blue light (eyecare). They are essentially the same on any display that has these features. And your 1ms response time? Please.
Here's a link to a well done review of your XL2730Z.
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/benq_xl2730z.htm
As is typically the case, you advertise 1ms response. Average is 3.4ms, and RTC overshoot (inverse ghosting) was all around pretty bad. Comparable 27" 1440p TN high refresh panels fared much better.
The Dell S2716DG (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_s2716dg.htm) hit a 2.8ms response time average with very low overshoot, or 2.2ms response time average with overshoot comparable to the BenQ.
The Acer Predator (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xg270hu.htm) hit 4.3ms with virtually no overshoot. This meant that the actual ghosting (and inverse ghosting) on the Acer was still superior to the BenQ.
There's only one argument to this, and that would be, "Well, TFTCentral hasn't reviewed our latest monitors." That's because BenQ doesn't send them monitors to review. As a company, you guys appear to not like when actual measurements expose the flaws in your design. You appear to prefer that objective measurements on your displays not be taken.
> Our customer service is also excellent.
I literally had to issue a chargeback to BenQ's retail store after they failed to handle an RMA. I'd hold off on putting this feather in your cap for a bit. You're not as bad as Asus, but you've got a long way to go on this front.
> But as I always end my responses, "to each his own."
Here's the thing, Shane. I like objective data. If you're going to try to brow beat me into liking your monitors, I absolutely will use hard data to dispute anything that you claim.
Your marketing might work on the typical Walmart/Target/Best Buy shopper, but people at Massdrop on average tend to research products a little bit better.

Mediondepending on what monitor you get from us, it can be a budget affordable price, but most people tell me, "Shane, why would I buy this when I can buy " " for cheaper? You get what you pay for. I've never had someone come to me and say they were buying our product because we were the cheaper "budget" product. Check out our lineup at http://www.zowiedirect.com. We are also coming out with a bunch of new stuff.

Medionyou have done research! Kudos my friend. I am a troll by nature, so I will be extremely savage to some on forums. You all have tough skin I hope :). I treat massdrop customers a lot different than normal do not know much customers. Your reviews are on our old models with the letters at the end. I know your demographic does research and that is fine. Tons of keyboard warriors here who will go off specs and have never touched our new Zowie line, but basically go off our old line. All of our updates we make are per the pros' recommendations. I do not know the circumstances regarding your charge back since I am not in customer service, but I would say we help people out way more than I feel we should. People out of warranty or outrageous demands, etc. We are coming out with a 240hz (true) with DyAc technology. As of now we just have the 144hz with DyAc and a 240hz monitor. All of what we do is for specific gaming, not 1 size fits all. We do not focus on 4k IPS gaming because 4K will reduce your response and refresh rates which pro gamers really do not care about. They care about getting the smoothest picture and fastest reaction time to win. If we end up making a beautiful 4K IPS gaming monitor, it will only be once that combination is perfected and not just to have it out like some people do. Have a nice day
