I had a pair of the Cloud II's. In my opinion, Kingston does a fabulous job of making a great gaming headset. [a little back history. The Cloud II's are the Takstar Pro 80 with a mic. Mass drop should collaborate with Beyer, DT-8XX

Would be amazing to see a collaboration with mass drop and beyerdynamics, for the DT 880 600 Ohm well known headphones pair. Change the design, add a detachable cable, and keep the same sound signature of the glorious DT880. This would be amazing! S

These are very different.

HE350

- wide soundstage (sound is further from you and all around you)
- lot of details even in faster track
- very bright and even fatiguing in trebble heavy tracks,
- not much bass in general, but clearly bassier of two.
- not very comfortable with stock pads for bigger heads and they kind of sound worse with hifiman´s focus pads (but become super comfy)
- short detachable cable
- will outperform K553 in: Red Hot Chili Pep...

Reason for getting HD598CS was because I gave away my AT-M50 and wanted to get a new closed back headphones for office use.
I bought Fostex T-X0 assuming it was closed back but the tuning Included making it semi-open. It leaks sound.
So I got Fostex X00 ebony but it also leaks sound.(I had fun modding it with detachable cable, mmcx connector without any physical mod)

I can see your points. Fostex can continue with what they are doing but the competition for 300-500 range is heating up for wood cup closed cans. Look at the Meze Classic 99 as an example with detachable cables. I am not buying yet another fixed cable closed headphones (Beyer T5P being my last). I will skip this Ebony if there is no chance of detachable cables.

Fostex aren't closed headphones. I wouldn't buy the M50x still though because you can find regular M50s for around ~100 and just mod them with a detachable cable for way cheaper.

I'm very hesistant about any headphone labeled as 'semi-open'
