This would be prefect keyboard to replace magic keyboard if the layout for the last second row were original. However, the larger left shift makes all the followed keys shifted rightwards, this can be extremely annoying, increasing miss-typing. I don't know why it is designed so and why not follow the standard layout which every one is already used to. The cost for adjusting is high and can be risky if fail to get used to. Would have brought for sure if the layout complied.

With proprietary switches and in-house PCB, what advantages does this keyboard offer over the Hexgears X-1 or similar boards that use low-profile switches available to buy right now? I think this board is a bit needlessly chunky with that pseudo-function row.
If this was a true 60% layout I would have purchased it instantly, but being fatter I feel like I should go with the Hexgears X-1 which has a partial numpad above the arrow keys. A lot more useful for an actual office environment.

Urano_MetriaHey there, thanks for your comment. The main difference between Taptek and hexgears-x-1 is the layout. Most of the Mac keyboards we use everyday are flat and boring. And there aren’t many mechanical keyboards designed with Mac layout. That’s the main reason why we create Taptek mechanical keyboard. With almost the same Mac layout, Mac users can switch smoothly and effortlessly, yet have a pleasant pop and click sound reminiscent of blue switches.

VinpokThanks for the response. I'm looking forward to any future Windows/universal keyboards you might put out.
Can you give more details on these new low-profile switches? For example: • Are the stems compatible with any existing keycaps? • Are there different versions (tactile, linear, clicky; light, medium, high force; etc.)? • Are the switches available alone so others could use them to make custom keyboards? • What are the switch dimensions?

dvorcolHey, since Taptek uses self-developed low profile switches, so it's not compatible with the major keycaps in Massdrop. Right now there's only one version of switch, but we'll consider developing other versions if our customers wish to. These switches are not sold alone now since it's compatible with our mainboard and may not work in other keyboards. The dimension is 13.95mm*13.95mm*5.5mm.
