How large does a watch have to be before it’s considered a clock?

Wrist size means a lot, but anything over 46mm is really pushing it in my opinion. I have one old Nixon that is 51mm, and it's just ridiculous looking back on it.
A good rule of thumb: if it looks like something Flava Flav would have around his neck, it's too big.

I see your point. I guess it depends on the wrist size and the watch design. I know of people who can really pull of 44mm diameter round. My best is 40mm diameter round and 35mm square. A proportionate and well designed watch helps to make watch look more watch than clock.
