Timeline for Reporting Issues

more_vert
I've bought several keysets from here, and a lot of items in all. And I get so many, that I don't have the time to immediately put things together. But I just received a message from massdrop that makes me start to think about that policy. I purchased overcast to put on my redscarf. And I just put it together. Everything went well, except for when I put the keycaps on. It was missing a 7 key, so I contacted support. And was told that there was a two week (!) window for reporting problems. Considering i have jukebox and lightcycle sitting here currently unopened, I'm a little concerned, especially as that seems a very narrow window. Is that stated anywhere that anyone knows of? I basically have a useless set of keys that I paid over $100 for at this point.
Any thoughts on this?

This is much less of an issue for sets that ship in presorted trays. I hope that becomes more common as time goes on.
For the bagged, unsorted sets... yeah, it's definitely a concern. There are more opportunities for missing and duplicate caps. 2 weeks sounds a little tight. I would hope Massdrop could allow up to 30 days for people to receive and check their orders. This is especially true for keyboard products that might not get assembled and fully quality-checked for a period of months following a given group buy. Until we get a policy update, I'd suggest checking your drops very thoroughly as soon as you receive them just to be safe.
Chuck, if your set came from SP I'd suggest shooting an email off to Melissa to ask about a single-cap purchase. They might have a few spares if Massdrop isn't willing or able to help you.

Tagging @AlexPeterkin and @YanboWu on this for clarification.

Interesting! Thank you. I wonder if this was a change from their prior return policy, or if the change was elsewhere? If the latter, it would be on me for not seeing it before when I checked the policies (had a difficulty on another item, and saw that thought it sucked, I just hadn't read the fineprint), but I don't recall that clause.
