Make your drops public in your profile!

more_vert
I like perusing what people have bought on Massdrop, it's interesting as it exposes me to products I don't know about, and I learn about other people's passions and hobbies.
Check out what I have bought by visiting my profile. Then go to your profile and make your drops public! I did it, and I would recommend everyone does so, in the spirit of sharing our passions!

In addition to making your drops public, I think it's very helpful if people list products that they own even if not purchased on Massdrop. It helps me find products I wouldn't have known about if I can see what things people are using. Eventually we might be able to break this out into it's own section...
Speaking of....are there any other improvements to profile pages you'd like to see?

The 'Show My Purchases' is the only thing I do not have displayed on my profile. The only way I would do this is if there was the ability to selectively select which drops I have purchased.

That's a difference I understand and agree with. I know that on MD, my purchases would be looked at by fellow enthusiasts, whereas on Amazon, it's the whole world.
Although I am less wary of datamining; if you have a Facebook page, or a Gmail or Yahoo account, you already are the subject of massive datamining... Mining your drops here on MD would be - pardon the pun! - a drop in the ocean!

BobrazHello Bobraz, ty for your answer. I've none of those and no plans to do so, but i understand that i'm kind of a relic of the past. I'm not against those kind of communities/services at all, but for me the balance isn't given regarding privacy, data ... . I'm not wearing tinfoil, either, but the majority of people i know are way to loose (don't know a better word at the moment) careless might fit better with their data.
The drop in the ocean might be a fine analogy, but there will always be the final drop, that is the one to much, hard to predict which one it may be. Hope you get my point :)
Have a nice weekend
