Here is a list I'll try to just continue to add to as I think of things: Consoles | Pros
  • Even playing field - for the most part everyone is on the same system, hitting around the same FPS, with the same hardware .
  • Accessibility - like I mentioned in the OP, its crazy easy to get into console gaming, and even the least tech-savvy folks can go to the store, buy a console, and start gaming in a matter of hours.
  • Exclusive games - I bought my first XBOX because Halo existed. Console exclusive games have been key players in why consoles sell since the beginning.

Consoles | Cons
  • I hate paying monthly fees just to play online games. Over time this cost my wife and I $20/mo. This operating cost does add up.
  • Low FPS - You simply can't do anything over 60FPS on a console.

PC | Pros
  • No monthly fees to play most games online.
  • HUGE variety of games, many more than
  • Dual role - work and play on the same system. If you need a monster PC for editing or production, you'll more than likely also end up with a PC that is a monster for gaming.
  • Cheaper games, better sales on games.
  • They can look amazing.

PC | Cons
  • $$$$ - Sure you can go super budget if you want, but generally speaking owning a gaming PC is far more expensive than owning a console.
  • Can often times be harder to maintain
  • Not super accessible. Can be daunting to build for non-techy folks, and even more expensive to buy.

livingspeedbumpI agree with almost all of your points except for the pricing of a PC compared to a console. Im working around a 1200 dollar PC right now which is amazing and I love it so so much. A console IS cheaper in the BEGINNING, although after time, paying 60$ for EVERY GAME gets old and expensive real quick, not to mention, monthly fees. All in all if you game with a console for around 2-3 years, it should add up to the same amount as my PC and I have been so much more satisfied with my PC compared to my PS4.
