I've got way too many chronos but I'm partial to Breitling

The first is my current weapon of choice, but the others are the Chase Durer Special Forces 1000XL, my Chronomat Vitessee and the Citizen Blue Angels. Prefer automatics but I like Quartz watches that are worthwhile (eg the Citizen, and I've got a fun Casio that's a Solar Atomic three-eye digital with a weird blue side backlight. Complete crap but it's nifty.

BoogieNYCTwo quick follow-ups: the Citizen is a pain in the ass because I'm in NYC and the sat connection rarely works even when I leave the watch in a window to dial the mothership at 3AM. Second, I doubt the Chase Durer is a good timepiece but it's rated at 1000 ft and it's got a 12-hour timer which is good when I cook (nevermind I've got three portable multi-timers in my kitchen). The watch looks great and is well made on the outside so that's my take on it ;-)

BoogieNYClove all this, thanks for sharing! the citizen’s design is more my personal speed. I agree there is always room for quartz based watches with particular features.

ltopperI agree. I really dig automatic watches (especially chronos) but if you're needing something technically precise quartz is the way to go. I love the mechanics of autos like I enjoy fountain pens. Ball points are easier and far less finicky but it's like driving a Honda vs a Bentley. All about the task at hand. If all you need to do is get from point a to point b a Honda does the trick 😉
