What should I buy, NVIDIA 2070 or 1080ti?

more_vert
Black Friday it´s coming . Budget: 600 - 700 $/€ Assuming deals in both segments, I don´t know what I should go for, look for a brand new nvidia generation or some stock leftovers? Many thanks!

GTX 1080Ti edges out the 2070 for most the part in terms of performance, comparing similar coolers. Some reviews for example: https://www.anandtech.com/show/13431/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2070-founders-edition-review and https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/8766/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2070-review-perfect-card-1440p/index.html For most the part the 1080Ti sits in between the RTX2070 and RTX2080 in terms of performance, edging slightly towards the RTX2070. Now there is some benefits to the RTX2070, namely in the form of tech like Ray Tracing and DLSS. However both have little adoption at this point and I would rather pick the GPU that offers the most raw performance that can be applied to all games rather then banking on "possible" changes. Ray Tracing in itself is expensive to use on this first generation anyways and DLSS has not yet made its way into any games and Final Fantasy recently decided to not implement support in the full game (only in the demo / benchmark). So yeah TL:DR, if you can get a nice aftermarket model with the 1080Ti for a nice price, would be way I would go. Of course you miss out on Ray Tracing, but as I said, its expensive to turn on with this first generation of RTX cards anyways.
