Waterhousing

more_vert
Hello, I am doing a photo-journalism project for schooling in southern California and am doing photography in the pacific ocean with surfers. I was wondering if there was anybody that could hook me up with a waterproof housing body for a canon 7d? Thank you very much!

A similar to eunu's recommendation is the Outex. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/outex/outex-slr-cameras-anywhere

The most cost-effective and flexible solution I've found is Ewa Marine, which apparently the military uses. I'm not certain if this is the best model for you, but it has better access to manual controls than the model I use: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/869027-REG/Ewa_Marine_em_u_bfz100_U_BFZ100_Underwater_Housing_for.html#!

eunuI did some underwater videography with a 5D MkIII using our EWA and it was a tremendous pain. It's difficult to utilize the controls and buoyancy can be a problem. The cost is pretty substantial for one, but a waterproof housing is far and away the best choice if you can afford it. They are also available from professional stills and motion camera rental houses.
