EDC Wallet/Tool Roll Combo I'm looking for some feedback and improvement suggestions on this design idea I had. It's a grab-and-go EDC tool roll/wallet combination. The idea behind this sucker is that I wanted to consolidate my EDC so that i can still put my hands in my pockets (instead of maneuvering around various clips of items I use only occasionally), and be able to load/unload my entire EDC in a convenient way...but still have something that I could carry hands free. It's designed to fit in your back pocket when you're walking and moving, and then sit on your dashboard or your desk when you're sitting down. In all reality, it's an attempted compromise to a man bag. I'd be interested in design feedback or suggestions on improvement--or even if you tell me it's dumb, that might be useful. Since i made it last week and started carrying it around and have found it really convenient.

Hey 🙂 Awesome Idea, A couple of points I can think of try incorporating RFID into the design and maybe make the wallet a little less in width (Focus on Essential Traditional EDC items). Wallet, Pen, Torch, Knife / Multitool/ Victorinox Pocket Type Knives, Keychain. Once this is achieved comfortably look at Powerbanks etc and see how this affects the design. +1 for the Magnetic Closure though. You could also raise funding and try out the concept via the Kickstarter Platform. https://www.kickstarter.com Finally, have a look a the Tripple Seven Core Nano Wallet for further ideas http://www.20dollarbandit.com/triple-7-gear-core-nano-wallet-all-colors/ Also, Consider the Arc Company Bolder Wallet for more ideas. https://www.gpknives.com/arc-co-usa-the-bolder-edc-wallet-green.html Really Hoping I can have this in my hands soon. Awesome Idea 👍 All the Best in the Project. 🙂

this is awesome! A great idea for ultralight backpackers to take care of their id card, credit card, and a few small tools. style points if you could make it waterproof

DingusJohnsonThis one is made out of packcloth, which is waterproof but the challenge would be protecting the whole roll... That might require a zipper. Stuff to think about. Thanks for the feedback!

Only suggestion I can think of is a pocket/key ring on the outside. If I have to access my cash/ID/Credit Card multiple times a day, I’m not going to want to be unrolling/rolling this thing up every time I need something, especially in front of the line at checkout. Same goes for getting in and out of my car or house.

I’m not into clipping things on the outside of my clothes... If I can’t fit it in a pocket, I’m not bringing it. Clips may be nice for some people, and as long as they can be removed I don’t think there would be an issue. I like the idea of doing something like this in Leather... perhaps with an integrated Keybar? You could also just have a magnetically closed flap on the outside that holds two cards and a key.

BrianWWThanks for the feedback, I'm definitely Leaning towards magnet integration, as it's not the first time I've heard the suggestion.

I actually really like the way it looks. Might be biased on the colors cause red and black are my favorite but.. All in all you have a great idea and it looks like it is water resistant to a good point and it looks like the size of my wallet right now. But how much money and/or items can really fit inside the EDC until it becomes too full to fold up and put in your pocket?

KingslyWell the items you see are more less what I carry in mine, but I also have carried a powerbank in it and it closed up just fine. It would still close up well with a flashlight, knife, powerbank, earbuds, a couple flash drives, coins, and whatever else, as the strap has some leeway for adjustment. I have positioned the elastic straps in such a way that those thicker items can be placed to rest in between each other when folded, rather than sit on top of each other. The challenge is to find the right design that provides maximum storage without being too obtrusive. But I do need to hone the design a bit more to really make this sucker eye catching.

Pretty cool. Is it intended to carry wallet items such as your ID? If so, I always prefer a clear window so I don't to pull my ID all the way out. Also, maybe a more streamlined closure system, like an adjustable loop and a flat metal hook. Great idea!

crscoxThanks for the feedback. I totally agree. I definitely think I need to add more "wallet type" features. Maybe remove a couple elastic bands. A loop and flat hook would probably be a good alternative to the buckle, I was also thinking to maybe imbed some magnets on the closure contact points.

I appreciate that. I actually use this one all the time and find it really useful, albeit the design does need to be honed a little.
