Wrist Check

Today’s wrist check is my newest work watch, the Casio Aviator Chronograph w/Slide Rule MTP-4500D-1AV.  I’ve always strapped on a watch for work but only in the past 7-8 years I’ve been swapping in a new watch every November 30th which is my work anniversary (33 years and counting). I’m partial to Casio because they’ve never let me down, but I’ve also used a Pulsar and Invicta in previous years. I picked the Casio Aviator this time because like the GMT’s I posted recently, I simply wanted to experience owning a slide rule watch - even if I never find a daily use for it. At a glance my Casio Aviator looks similar to all of my previous Casio’s stay the slide rule on the bi-directional bezel. I watched a few YouTube videos to learn the basics of rotating slide rule operation and it seem simple enough to me. I made a few simple math calculations with great success but struggled to view the tiny numbers on the slide rule bezel and dial. The watch does not have a date complication, super illumination lights, or robust lume on the hands and hour markers but is still plenty useful as a daily work watch. As always, the stainless steel bracelet was replaced with a Bond style Nato strap to match all of my previous work watches. Very nice. I also really like the watch box. Which brand is that? do you have a link to it?

Looks like a larger case with double the slots is in order. Perhaps I’ll add that to my Christmas wishlist.
