The arrows in the function layer honestly feel more natural and easier to use than dedicated keys off to the side of the alphas. I definitely miss not having home row arrows when I am using a larger board. I flipped the third dip switch, which makes caps lock work as fn. The only thing you have to watch is that the pok3r will not register modifiers after pressing fn so you need to press modifiers before entering the function layer. This has not been an issue as I hit them first anyways.
You can also press L_Win + Space + R_Alt to toggle the modifiers in the bottom right to act as an arrow cluster when you need arrows on the top layer.

Catszeid@DMXGeo This is an old thread, but this is a common question, so sharing my experience. --- tl;dr: Pok3r + dedicated arrow cluster ("L_Win + Space + R_Alt") has been my favorite keyboard to code on, for about a year.
details: I program mostly in vim, on mac and linux, and, missing dedicated arrow keys, I almost got rid of my Pok3r (WASD CODE 61 key, https://twitter.com/wasdkeyboards/status/707310223162081280, no longer sold).
Then I remapped the lower right cluster to arrow keys (L_Win + Space + R_Alt), and moved Fn to CapsLock (SW3 on, others off).
Since then, this has been my favorite keyboard to write code on for the past year, replacing my WASD CODE 87 TKL. I might try another KB, with dedicated Pg{Up,Dn}/Home/End keys (Varmilo 68, or reprogram my WhiteFox) at some point, but not today. ; )

markooHello Markoo -- not sure if you still have the Pok3r but I am trying to get it programmed so that I am able to set up custom arrow keys and also the number pad.
I am not sure what the dedicated arrow cluster is that you are referring to, is there an image or a tutorial you can point me to that will help out a total noob (ELI5). I have a little experience with vim, but I would really like to be able to navigate in VSCode with my Pok3r and having issues with the basic sub layer programming on the keyboard.
Thanks!

Hey Modes, here is Pok3r manual -- http://www.vortexgear.tw/db/upload/webdata4/6vortex_20166523361966663.pdf The last page is probably most relevant for your purpose.
I am not sure how you'd get a dedicated numpad on a Pok3r (I just use the numbers in the top row), but to get dedicated arrow keys, do this:
1. Switch SW 3 (one of the DIP switches on the back of your keyboard) into "ON" position. This will move your Fn key to your CapsLock (see the last page of the manual for details on what those switches do). In my setup, all switches are OFF, except for SW 3.
2. Press L_Win + R_Alt + Spacebar. This will turn the keys in the lower right corner (Right Shift, Fn, Pn, and Right Ctrl) into arrow keys. The very last line of the manual talks about this. Note that this setting is not persisted across power downs, and you have to do this every time the keyboard is powered up.
Once you've done this, you have a "dedicated arrow key cluster" -- by which I just mean that the keys in the lower right corner of your keyboard turns into arrow keys.

markooCool! thanks for sending. Unfortunately the dedicated arrow keys is a bit cumbersome (especially because I switched some of the keys around because I am using it on a Mac) but I don't want to have to redo it every time I plug the keyboard back in.
Also I am wondering if there is any way to program the Pok3r with the QMK firmware like other mechanical keyboards or is that not possible?
I am so new to mechanical keyboards that a lot of this seems really overwhelming and intimidating, but I know that once I get a hang of it, it will all seem much easier.
I absolutely love the caps lock FN key -- so I am going to leave that for sure, but I would love to have additional layers that I can program for use in VSCode for specific shortcuts (like moving to the front and end of a line) -- right now every time i try and click "home" or "end" it just goes page up or down instead of to the beginning or end of the line I am typing on.
But I am going to continue to play around and I appreciate the manual. I have the VTG-6100 model number of the Pok3r keyboard so that manual should be the same for all of them, right?
Thanks again so much for getting back to me. Super appreciated.

Yes, all good points.
For what it's worth, i am on a Mac as well.
Yes, pressing " L_Win + R_Alt + Spacebar" when I turn on my computer (to get my arrow keys) is not ideal, but it's been fine.
I haven't had much need programming my pok3r, but the manual talks about the details, and there are some good tutorials out there. Basically, you program with keystrokes, instead of running dedicated software on your computer)
I think in VSCode, Wnd+left and Wnd+right are, basically, "home" and "end". Oh, and I forgot to mention, I think I also have "Modifier Keys" slightly configured in my mac's Keyboard settings, to mimic standard mac functionality.

I am not sure about specific model numbers, but I think all Pok3rs are configured the same way (adjusted for LED configuration).
It sounds like you might like Leopold FC660M layout -- they have dedicated arrow keys, and Fn + left/right are home and end (and Fn+Up and Fn+Down are PgUp and PgDn). They are kind of hard to find, though (at least in the US) -- https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3548
