Tldr: keyboards=no; keycapsets as an optional part of bigger drops=yes.
Being German myself, i've to say no. We've very good deals for Coolermaster every other week at ZackZack/Notebooksbilliger, good deals for Corsair and other brands many times at Amazon or Mediamarkt/Saturn. Massdrop can't compete with those and Europeans and even more Germans are just a small part of this community and customers (But we're growing :))
Custom keyboards with ISO (DE) support are given very often, the main problem, not in the hands of Massdrop, are ISO keycaps(sets). You can get a fitting keyboard, but have to take care of keycaps for yourself. International addon kits, including German, make it every other day if its Signature Plastics (PMK), because M(inimum)O(rder)Q(uantity) is low(er), GMK used to fail, if Massdrop doesn't step in to make it happen. Tai Hao as example in ISO-DE exists, but if MD would start trying to offer these it would be logical and reasonable that every other country not being ANSI would want to be considered too. If i'm correct Tai Hao has an MOQ of 25, might be wrong. But i've high hopes the situation will become better in the coming years because mk (stuff) is getting more popular day by day.
Lieben Gruß

I want kits with ISO support it's not like this limits the availability for ANSI-users. Making a kit that supports both ISO and ANSI might be a tiny bit more expensive, but with the added interests and bigger chance to hit MOQ, I suspect even ANSI-users would be glad for such options. Also, with brands such as Leopold and Varmilo entering the ISO market, I'd expect to see more variety of pre-made boards coming this year as well. Saying ISO users doesn't need/deserve better than Corsair is frankly an insult.

FrokostHello,
nope, " Saying ISO users doesn't need/deserve better than Corsair is frankly an insult." Its not up to me how you understand my words. MD can only sell what's been given and the company has to be willing to make business with MD. If someone like Filco, Leopold or HHKB says no, no drop.
Coolermaster in Germany, good bang for the buck, even more with deals for €60 - €80, not that bad in quality, i've gotten myself a K65RGB new for €65, excellent deal. Agreed, stockprice is way to high. No problem to get Ducky or Filco in ISO in Europe, no problem to get a Whitefox or Clueboard as example at MD with ISO support. Problem for many people this is getting to pricey for them.
Major problem given is the lack of ISO keycaps, not even talking of high quality, if given they fail mostly all of the time. If there would be only one ISO layout, chances would be much better. People want to get it as cheap as possible, people rant all the time to be forced to buy keys they don't need at all. It's common human behaviour to look only at their needs to keep the price low, is this good, no, understandable, yes.
The moment given, Varmilo or Leopold in other languages would become massproducts of the shelf, chances are very good there is going to be a European distributor or like Varmilo selling them by themselves and its very hard for MD to compete in prices being in need of higher volumes to get real drops and on top the usual rants about high shipping prices and customs .... .
I'm not against more ISO mks at all, i would be fine if everyone everywhere could get his desired mk for a fair price, but there is wishfull thinking and reality, which might become better in the future.
So many words, internet is made for misunderstanding, a talk, having a beer, situation would be explained in seconds :)
Have a nice day

MakamiOld thread, I know. But I wanted to say that I care much about aesthetics and almost all german layout mechanical keyboards are ugly as hell. Right now I own a Ducky Shine 7 as it is the best I could find. But I would still prefer a Drop CTRL with german layout.

DampfnudelAlso sorry for exhuming this old thread: an alternative to a full fledged German layout would be keycaps for US-international, which is actually a somewhat useful layout for German. The Umlauts and Eszett have a sub-1% frequency in text, so using AltGr isn't too cumbersome (as opposed to other languages like e.g. French, where e.g. é makes up over 2%). But the german letters are located somewhat illogical (because the corresponding vowels are already occupied by the accented versions), so having appropriate keycaps would be very nice for transitioning. Throw in a "Compose" key, and you've got everything covered. https://dry.sailingissues.com/us-international-keyboard-layout.html
