Chairs that don't look ridiculous

more_vert
Is it possible that we could source some desk chairs that aren't ridiculous looking race car chairs? What's next, race car beds for really serious gamers?
How about good ergonomic chairs? These things can be GD expensive and it would be nice to be able to knock a hundred or so off to make the more affordable. I'm talking about the good office chairs like the kind of stuff you find here: https://www.fully.com/ or here: http://www.thehumansolution.com/ergonomic-chairs.html
The only issue is that there are so many different designs, it's hard to know what you would like best without trying it first.

theres a couple brands out there that do that but you still have to pay just as much. I’ll try to find the names of them and edit the comment. Edit: The brand is called Vertagear. They make both obnoxious and non-obnoxious gaming chairs.

Yeah a clone of the Steelcase gesture or the Herman Miller embody would be awesome.

Agree. I feel the need to explore simple & functional chairs. I would never just invest in a chair without sitting upon the throne. With that going out to a brick & morter to do some serious sitting seems like the best way.
I, too would go for a tastefully executed and ergonomic office throne. I only spend my whole life in them. Yes please. Some fairly cheap ones have actually served me quite well so far as comfort.

I find that the best ergonomic chairs are the ones that just fit you, with zero adjustments and knobs and sliders. You have to go into a store and sit in them to find that out. Personally, this one is good for me:

If I hadn't sat in it myself, I wouldn't have believed it. (It's the surprisingly expensive Polo 5-Star, a reproduction of a "classic" design by some famous U.K. furniture designer.)
If you need a full-backed chair, the really cheap "executive" chairs are good candidates, but again, you need to sit in a variety of them to find the right one.

Tbh I kind of like the mid century look. If only they made a work chair that wasn't 500+ that had that aesthetic.

Or maybe even $200. I work virtually, so my office "furniture" is on my dime. I buy an "okay" chair from Stables every couple of years, I'd buy a more expensive chair with a Massdrop deal.
