Patina / Fades Archive

As title suggests, share stuff you own that have developed their own personality over time. If said products come from Massdrop it'll be beneficial to potential backers for future drops as well.
I'll post soon, I thought I'll just create the thread first. :)

Some suggestions:
  • Raw denim
  • Shoes / boots
  • Leather / denim / canvas jackets
  • Casual watch straps
  • Bags

Wow--should rename this thread: The Dept. of Beat Shit.
Necromancy +1
Rogue Territory Over-dyed Indigo. ~12 months old, first "wash" when I got soaked at Niagara falls after 5 months, second wash (warm soapy) in a tub after ~11 months. Don't wear too often--twice or thrice a week.

Anyone have a British Belt bag from one of the drops with some mileage on it?

Lovely fades.
I've had the Unbranded jeans for a while, but I kinda screwed up after their first wash. Somehow a hard crease set in all along the sides of the jeans, and now looks not very good imo. Here is a photo after ~6 months of on-and-off wear, no washes. Also featuring relatively new Dundalks by Rider, wear pics earlier in this thread.
I also happen to be headless in the pic. Hmm. Interesting.

Yellow 108 Salvage Leather Belt. Wear this 3-4 times a week. Love how it's changed over the past 2-3 years. Probably needs a good conditioning though.

Never knew belts could wear that nicely. Love the edges on this.
Okay this might be weird but I'm completely obsessed with this watch strap. It's not even super high quality or anything, the quality is good but not way up there. That said I absolutely love how this leather absorbs oils and changes with time.
It's from a small Spanish strap maker, goes by "C&B Straps" (not to be confused with Crown & Buckle). http://cbstraps.blogspot.com/

After. Here in the strap only pic you can see how part of it has darkened to a beautiful orangish hue. Also naturally burnished edges, almost green, counters the dressy side of the Alpinist but matches the "Alpinist" nature perfectly imo.

I just bought a new watch and am looking for a leather band actually. Going to look at this one. Beautiful update :)

Rider Boots Dundalk. Owned for a total of seven months, but stopped wearing in late-ish March (so four-ish months). Not really abused, mostly just for school, with raw denim. Maybe a couple of hikes but nothing too crazy. You can see indigo bleeding onto the shaft, and some scratches on the heels that don't go (love it). I just brush these with a suede brush from time to time, mostly after being worn in the rain / mud.

Ooh, I like this idea.
Pic doesn't do it justice, but my Chester Mox Ilcea museum calf bifold has picked up a crazy patina over the past 2+ years. The saffron museum color is still super deep, but now there are lots of dark burnished parts from wear, indigo, etc.

Ah-ha. I forgot about my own wallet. The Chester Mox leather looks lovely!
