Advice for skin car

So i'm getting close to 30 and finally trying to care for my skin. I am still so new at it. The best I do for my face is putting lotion on it 2x a day (usually). Can anyone advise me on how to better care for my skin, face or body? I should note I do have adult acne as well.

Yes definitely agree with sunscreen everyday. But also use a toner before putting anything else on. I like rose water. Also at night you can use an oil or serum before moisturizer.
HIGH SPF SUNCREEN every (and I mean EVERY) day!
I would recommend getting a consultation done. You may find visiting your local Clinique counter, or some place like Ulta or Sephora helpfup. I like Clinique‘s skin care products.
I would incorporate a light toner ie. Rose Petal Witch Hazel . I know it's hard if you are battling acne, but it is important not to strip too much oil from your face or your skin will actually create more oil. Using gentle products for combination skin, such as Fresh Soy Cleanser. There are more affordable ones on the market as well. I would also recommend starting to use eye cream, such as Kiehl's avocado cream which is really affordable and lasts a long time!
It depends entirely on your skintype, not your age. Go get a consultation at Sephora or Macy’s.
Once I started researching skin care a little more (..in the past 2 weeks), I became a bit overwhelmed. There are so many products, and what feels like a million steps. This post helped me narrow down which types of products I should focus on getting first: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/4gltx6/newbies_why_your_first_haul_should_only_have_four/
For an oil cleanser, I decided to get the Banila Co. Clean It Zero: Purity, which is conveniently on the site right now for another 4 days! For a low pH water-based cleanser, I'll be picking up the COSRX Low-pH Good Morning Cleanser. I also use Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid as my hydrating toner. I like it a lot and use it morning and night. As for caring for your skin.. it's only in the past year that I've realized just how important sunscreen is. I prefer a more watery sunscreen and have been using Neutrogena Pure & Free Liquid SPF 50.. I ended up with this basically because it was what I could find in the western market that was more watery.
I am going to use the rest of the moisturizer and sunscreen that I currently have before I pick up some new stuff, so I have a little time to figure that out. The AB subreddit is really helpful because people list their skin type along with their reviews of products and nowdays there are tons of video reviews so you can see the products in use. Have fun!
You might have better luck looking up the beginner guide on reddit's skincareaddiction and asianbeauty boards. However, you might want to look into investing in the next few items:
-a dedicated makeup remover of some kind; I like oil cleansers, personally. -a dedicated facial cleanser, preferably low pH. -an Asian-style hydration toner, not a western-style astringent one.
Hope this was helpful!
Thank you. That does help.
