Chamber vacuum sealer

more_vert
I would love to see a Massdrop for a chamber vacuum sealer. There's a poll to determine the "Best of" Chamber vacuum sealers. This is a perfect compliment for the recent drop of the Anova sous vide. Chamber vacs are better than regular food sealers because you can incorporate liquids/marinades into your pouches prior to sous vide cooking.

I have a chamber vac and its awesome, you can do some really awesome things other then sealing bags, Im a big fan of compressing fruit (Pineapple is the best!)
That being said, I have a counter top model VP112 ( https://www.amazon.com/VacMaster-VP112-Chamber-Vacuum-Sealer/dp/B003YE8FG0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1508447371&sr=8-2&keywords=vacmaster+vp112 )and its a pain in the you know what, its crazy big and heavy, if you spill something or try to do a bag of soup or something and the bag explodes its one of the most difficult things to clean and just overall not worth the trouble.
just my 2 cents

massachrisThank you. I received the VP-215 as a combined family gift. I’ve had great success with soups, stews and liquids by elevating them at an angle inside the chamber. I’m still trying to recreate the crisp/crunchy texture of the tiny, perfectly cubed, compressed peaches at the bottom of an awesome pana cotta at Morimoto’s. Here is the desert topped with a gelee.

Ugh.. I wish I had room for one of these in my kitchen! The food saver I have was enough to get a raised eyebrow from my SO. A VacMaster 7000 might get as warm a reception as a Bass-o-matic.

Agreed. Chamber vacs are a huge help to sous vide. I like Chimi's idea of starting with a regular vacuum sealer, though, so I hesitate to add chamber vacs to the mix.
FWIW, I've been using the VacMaster VP112 for about 5 years. It's very nice and a HUGE improvement over the FoodSaver/Seal-A-Meal type vacuum sealers. I'd really like to upgrade to the VP215, though. I'd be happy to answer questions about either one from my experience.
Would folks rather just put all the vac sealers in one poll or create a new one for chamber vacs?
