1. What kind of switches do you want? What do you prefer? 2. Do you need backlighting? 3. Do you need dedicated media buttons? Maybe a volume scroll wheel? 4. Do you need macros? Do you need dedicated macro buttons? 5. Do you need good software to come with the keyboard? 6. Do you want a TKL, 60%, Full layout? 7. What kind of design? Clean, aggressive, eccentric, etc.? 8. In what price range? (Although most good mech. KBs are going to cost over $100 USD for sure).

Step in, Step out, continue, List code 5. Hackable software, other peoples assumptions seam to fail for me 6. 60% about right 7. Ortholinear, split, I've got a kinises advantage and a typematrix so I can handle non-standard 8. wallet<=$300 ---- Additionally: I need Dvorak in the board and if it does not come with qwerty then those annoying sys admins will stay off my computer. In fact the stranger the board the more I keep people away. Come to think of it, I think I need that Starwars font key code...
