ThinkSound ON2 Headphones. Why? They're stylish, made of high quality materials, very good sound quality, and surprisingly don't make your head hurt. They're on on-ear headphones so that's a real concern. Noise fatigue doesn't set in until I've kept them on for hours at a time, so that's another plus. I think the main draw for me as well is that they're versatile. I don't need an amp to use them - they're designed for use with laptops and such. So that combination of factors puts them at the top for me.

brettmancanYou beat me to it. 100% agree with you. The ThinkSound ON2 is an incredible headphone but the reviewers always qualify it as: Best portable, Best on-ear, Best under $200, Best closed back portable, etc. This damns it with faint qualifiers. These headphones are great even without the qualifiers. I mean they are amazing........oh and they just happen to cost $90 on Massdrop. For me I'm deadly serious when I say that they best my Meze99's and my HE4XX all to hell. The dynamics are actually greater than either. The clarity in the mids and treble region are smoother than the HE4XX. They are so practical because they are closed back and they are portable and they take so little power to drive. The ON2 would be not be embarrassed by anything under $1000....maybe more. I could live with this one headphone and be very happy.
