You're looking for an amp and dac. The schiit magni and modi is a well known combo. The schiit fulla is an all-in-one solution. I have a Micca OriGen G2. It's cheap, the sound is analytical, it has output jacks for 1/8 and 1/4 inch

erickongSo a fulla and an OriGen G2 are both all-in-one solutions right? And they are basically the same as a magni-modi combo but smaller ? Since it's my first time I think I'll go with either the fulla or OriGen G2. Now is it up to me to choose or there's a difference I didn't see between the two of them ?
LikhanYour first 2 questions are correct. I think the deciding factor is cost. With the OriGen, I recommend you buy this power cable: https://www.amazon.com/atolla-Standard-Adaptor-External-Positive/dp/B01DPCPAQS/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1544373699&sr=8-13&keywords=atolla It does not come with a power cable, but it does come with a micro-USB to type-A USB (it provides some power and the audio signal)

erickongThanks for the advice. There's a real difference between the usb and the power cable ? It's weird they don't provide it Anyway, thank you very much for your time and answers !
LikhanI use both. Need that MAXIMUM power. Another deciding factor. Having both jack sizes on the OriGen is awesome. No problem, happy shopping!

erickongSo apparently, Micca ain't shipping to Europe, or at least France. Guess I'll have to go for the fulla then, or wait until I go to the USA.
LikhanDid you try to buy via Amazon?

erickongYeah it's not on amazon.fr and amazon.com says it doesn't ship to France. I'll check Germany and UK just in case.

LikhanLook at the Aune X1S, should be available there, and is a fantastic DAC Amp combo.

KethIs it worth the price ? Cause for this price I could get the Schiit magni and modi. I don't necessarily want a DAC Amp combo, it's just that the Origen G2 and the Fulla seem quite good for their price and size.

erickongI found it on eBay but never bought from them. Shall I go for it or the Schiit fulla which does have an official reseller in europe ?

LikhanHi there With the M50x you will need an amplifier with a low output impedance as they are only 38ohms. So the fulla would fit the bill very nicely with just 0.5ohms the aune x1s has an output impedance of 10ohms so that would really not be suitable due to the low damping factor. Another option if you live in Europe is the arcam rHead it has some great specs food for thought.

What would be the difference between an impedance of 0.5 and 10ohms ? Do you also know it there is a difference when using RCA (rHead) or USB (fulla) as input ?

LikhanWell the higher output the ohms on the amp the more it will change the sound of the headphones have a quick read through this article http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/2011/02/headphone-amp-impedance.html?m=1. As for the usb vs RCA it will be dependant on the DAC used in the pc if it is of good quality then it will be fine though the line out into RCA. If it's not a good quality then you need the fullas usb as that then takes care of the DAC for you. So I would say unless you know the DAC in your pc is really good go for the fulla it solves all the problems.

Thanks for the article ! So RCA needs a real good/clean input and you can fit anything in the usb. I guess you would need at least a dedicated audio card to have a good DAC, and not the one of a motherboard ? It will most likely be the fulla then. Thank you again, you and @erickong were of great help

LikhanYeah most pcs and laptops don't have great DACs and they tend to be very noisy. The fulla would work perfectly. All the best mate.
LikhanI'd buy the fulla
