I Miss Pro Audio

more_vert
I don't want a set of fancy earbuds or a new DAC. I miss the musical instruments, microphones, effects pedals, and super flat sounding monitors and headphones. I know Pro Audio and Audiophile were supposed to have merged, but it seems like its just Audiophile. I don't need a bluetooth amp with ornamental 12AX7 tubes. I want a Volca FM, or maybe an awesome multi tier keyboard stand to organize my home studio. Please bring back Pro Audio.

It's been nearly a year since an instrument was sold on here. I think I may cancel my membership.

While I am interested in headphones and DACs, it would nice to see more drops focused at making music, such as effects pedals. Personally I wouln't buy a guitar that I have never played before since they can vary so much even with in a single model, but I would have no issue buying a synth or a keyboard from massdrop. Also if this is supposed to be "audiophile" they should do more speaker amps, CD players, passive speakers and stuff like that.

See, that's why I had suggested to just call it "Audio". As soon as you use the audiophile tag, it targets to a very, very specific market. One that does not include keyboard stands or mixing boards.

bravomailI bought a Novation Mininova on here, and there were enough people for that. Bring back the synths. There are a lot of us that want them.

I was actually wondering about this today, and I wasn't even around for Pro Audio's existence. I'm about to get in the market for higher quality upgrades of some aging karaoke gear. It would be great if I could lean on Massdrop for deals for solid PA equipment, or even more deals on serious stage microphones.

inorite? Pretty much everyone likes music... I don't get why more people aren't involved in *making* it.
Protip: You don't have to be *good*! You don't even have to let anyone else hear!
Seriously, the only way you get to be good is to start out bad and do it, do it, do it. And you don't have to have aspirations to become a famous performer--or even a working recording artist--whether it's noodling around on a guitar, programming a synth, or mixing & blending your favorite tracks on the decks, playing with music tickles your brain in a special way. Everyone should do it!
