Is the next step mice?

more_vert
I've been stepping up my keyboard game pretty well here recently so now it's the most highly engineered thing on my desk....
Which seems unfair/ridiculous
Is the next thing to start upgrading my mouse? My monitor?
Because the keyboards are mechanical the interaction with it is more proactive and involved, upgrading the mouse seems like it's just spend more money and buy a new one?
What is everyone's opinion on their mouse and how it compares to their keyboard in:
  • level of satisfaction
  • customization
  • number of features
  • cost

Thank you,

The obvious solution is to add mechanical keyboard switches to your mouse. The fabulous Tokyopress over on reddit is a pioneer of this revolutionary process:

As a heavy gamer, I use a Logitech G502 at home, and have ZERO plans of changing it out for anything else. Pretty soon I'm going to pick up a G900 for work. I've tried it, it's a wireless symetrical mouse, very responsive (in testing it literally has the same or less latency than a wired mouse), crazy good battery life....The design seems super elegant, but somehow just barely under the line of looking too crazy. You can swap the side buttons so they are on either side of the mouse, plus weights in the bottom just like the G502. It runs about $100-120 USD. Oh, and if wireless just turns you off too much, the charging cable also makes it a wired mouse.
Some corsair stuff is really nice, but their designs are very gamer-focused/gaudy/wild, probably not something I'd want on display at my desk, functional as it may be.
Steelseries is really back-to-basics, just giving you a good mouse for a reasonable price that will work and keep on working without making too much of a presence to someone looking.
Just my opinions, though. I'm by no means a pro gamer (though pretty decent) or an ergonomics expert. Mice don't really have any customizability besides lights. They are mostly grab 'n go, besides remapping buttons.
A good monitor is sometimes important, depending on what you do. There are specialized ones that are better for games, or for movies, or for office work. All depends on you.

well as far as mice go there just isnt any creators for them that are considered "designer" level stuff, there isnt anybody like Wilba who makes amazing new stuff. The best you could do is name brand mice like steel series or zowie for nice mice.
