Big News out of Omega

more_vert
Omega just announced that they're resuming production of one of the most coveted chronograph movements, the caliber 321. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/omega-resumes-production-caliber-321-speedmaster-movement I'm excited to see what is born out of these; will they go in every new Speedmaster or only a select few?

Not big news imo. They aren't even putting that movement in any of the upcoming Apollo 11 Limited Edition models in 2019.

toxicavenger70Perhaps they are saving it for something big. Regardless of which watch it's being housed in, I think resurrecting a very desirable movement after 50 years is noteworthy.

Vincent.HVincent true that. I was just thinking that with the anniversary coming up they would use that movement in LE.

I was going to post about this here
Jack Forster is my favorite over at Hodinkee. Great stuff. I hope it sees wider use beyond the 50th Anniversary LE, but this would be a brilliant way to really set that apart from the glut of LEs that Omega puts out there...

No doubt, as an owner of a speedy with 321 & 861 movt I'm somewhat concern to what's going to happen to the vintage speedy market.
