Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. At first I was sure that I was going to go with the Burnout set (orange, black, and gray) but with all the recent orange sets that have just been produced and are scheduled, I haven't been as sold. I really started to look at the greenish/blue with the higher contrast dark and light grays.
The feedback I'm looking for at this point is again, which color scheme you like the best, but also take a look at the keys and let me know if there any you would like to see added. Remember with DSA profile all the caps are the same and can be placed anywhere. Let me know if you would like to see additional accent keys.
