Seiko Tuna Monster?

more_vert
Recently spent a little time on Seiko's Japanese site discovering a lot of watches I hadn't seen before and then I came across this fellow. Seems to have DNA from the Tuna line, the Monster line and the Marine Master line, all wrapped up in one rather ominous looking diver. The page said the price was "120,000 JPY+TAX" --I didn't have the heart to do the conversion...

I have several Seiko watches and they all are quality timepieces that look great and perform flawlessly. Two are solar powered and only lose about one second per month! Super watches at great prices. No need for a Rolex!

ccatherGood point--doesn't mean I don't want a Rolex, but so far, I'm get'n by without. As for the Seikos, I'm with you a 100% ;- )

That's not a Tuna Monster, it is a Tuna marine master. These are Tuna Monsters, i.e. Monster dial in a shroud like the Tuna marine master, and they are much more affordable. I had one a while back that I bought for $350.

arislanYes, when you compare the two side by side, the difference is pretty stark! I have a first gen black monster and I like that look, but I'm generally not wild about the can shroud on Prospex Seiko's. Adding one to a third-gen monster (with a Prospex logo) just doesn't compare to the look of the Tuna Marine Master (not to mention the guts inside). I much prefer the Marine Master's apparent domed crystal and the dot indices; creates a more sophisticated (?) look than the straight Tuna/Monster mash up. That's my curse--a checking account seldom keeps pace with my exceedingly good taste! Thanks for the clarification ;- )

DeathbedWell, that affectionate nickname refers to the watchcase, which to some, resembles the shape of a CAN of tuna. However, (just between you an me) I have it on good authority, their's no actual tuna inside, so if you were looking to say...make a sandwich for instance, this watch may not be for you ;- )

i figured it out.... it’s a bottle cap placed in the top of a can....if they have the Pepsi color, I’d call it the Pepsi bottlecan turtle tuna master....lol
