My favorite album of 2018: Parcels. It's Disco/Electro/Funk and seems to be heavily influenced by Daft Punk, who produced a track called "Overnight" for Parcels. If your a big fan of Random Access Memory and loved the tracks "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance", then this is a representation of that electric disco feel. How the opening track "Comedown" smoothly transitions to "Lightenup" sounds buttery smooth. Their outfits are a great representations of the sound, almost as if they traveled through time; even the drummer is named Rambo, who looks like Sylvester Stallone from the 80's - it's brilliant. It's music that will bring joy, and push you to dance. Sound: Seems to have been produced with a focus on intimacy. The recording isn't wide, wish it was, like in their previous EP "Hideout" and"Random Access Memory" from Daft Punk. I still enjoy the sound with wider headphones, and with planar magnetics; for some reason disco just sounds so right with this set up.
