Pricing Update

more_vert
Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that we will be increasing the price on a limited amount of Massdrop Made audio and blades products. These increases will generally range from $10-$20 and will go into effect over the next few weeks. We may also revisit prices on a limited amount of additional products in the coming months. Why the increase? A couple of reasons. When we started, we underpriced some items with the immediate goal of getting them into your hands and out into the community. We knew the price didn’t accurately reflect their market value, but wanted to reward our early adopters for taking a chance with us. Additionally, over the years, costs have gone up around things like manufacturing, shipping, etc. We’re also working on some super exciting stuff, including the development of new, killer products, different ways of including you in the product design process, expanded shipping, and generally bettering our customer experiences, from product announcement to product delivery. More to come soon on all of this, but the new pricing will help make these things possible. Rest assured that we continue to be dedicated to providing amazing value in our products. Thanks for your support and being a part of Massdrop. Steve

Please.... all the people who are welcoming the move might be the one time buyers.. people who buy things in drop.. can never be ok with price increases. Idea of massdrop was... we buy in mass that drops the price. With price increase they lost the moral right of using name mass drop, That why massdrop is now called only drop. Here, I am done with my rant! But seriously man, everyone is not ok with the price increases even after your explanation!

I am aiming to collect all Massdrop made blades little by little. And I just checked now that the price increases, havent received any email about this. Already ordered more or less 100 items just for a year in different categories. I'm really sadden by this price increase. As you can see, we are losing the purpose of Massdrop. Before, the more # of people joining, the price decreases. Now, even the number of people joining increases, the price INCREASES. Where is the mass buying advantage for the consumer here? :( Please reconsider! I don't want to buy this knives at the increased price! And please bring back the OLD Massdrop!

mcabrielThis. Massdrop is literally running backwards from the main philosophy of group buys. No idea if it's new management or obliviousness to their market from the company, but they're working hard to lose their core demographic.

Yeah well a $20 price hike is $30 here and including shipping, the new total is 10% more than the original price... Could've gotten a pair of these and a CX3 IEM with the new cost in place. @MadDad Scummy business tactics considering these headphones are supposedly "Made in Ireland", not China, so your reason is pretty invalid. MD probably wants profits to rise, counter intuitive to their business model of offering the lowest prices.

MD doesn't want to mention it because they don't want things to get political, but the real reason why prices are going up is because of increased tariffs on products coming in from China. Importers and retailers don't pay that tariff, they pass it on to the consumer, as they should, and that's why we're seeing an increase in price.

I've seen a few complaints in two communities on Massdrop now about pricing being too high.... I don't understand only because not only is there a complaint but also a push (many pushes) to buy off of competitor sites. (Why bother coming to Massdrop then??)
