Prototype X-SES 2

more_vert
X-SES was the prototype that made the Catwalk at CTIA in New Orleans for "Fasions in Motion" a look at all the new mobile technology that was being developed in 2005, a few months before Hurricane Katrina transformed the Convention Center. While the original X-SES was a mock-up, X-SES 2 was meant to be a working device. It was built with Cherry keys and operates via USB but it also has a control port to attach external keys for testing. We decided to try out the gaming market and went on to develop the TextSkin, a wrap-around keyboard to fit on an X-Box 360. More on that another time The X-SES design made simple sense and eventually led to building the DecaTxt keyboard many years later. Appreciation came later still in 2017 when the DecaTxt beat entries from international Laboratories and fortune 500 companies for an R&D 100 Award in the 55th annual event. Unfortunately X-SES didn't get too much attention back then, likely over-shadowed by the presenter.
