Will this DAC/AMP combo work
So, I just bought the HD6xx, and while I wait for them to arrive, I started asking myself if the gear I already have will suffice for such demanding headphones. Straight to the point: I have a FiiO K1 DAC (I know, very entry-level one, but still better than the one built-in in my PC), and a Yamaha HTR-5830 DSP. that I use mostly with a 5.1 surrond system bought several years ago. Now, the yamaha also has a jack-out for listening with headphones. I'm not an expert, that's why I'm asking you, according to the specifications, will those 2 be able to let me enjoy the 6xx properly? Here are the specifications of the AMP:

Phone jacks on receivers are mostly an afterthought, a throw it in feature because Realistic did it way back - thing,, because it's useful and HAM radios had them;) not for quality... though I am curious as to the quality of the old HAM setups. You will be short-changing yourself until you move up to at least mid-fi, where,, yeah,, you know there is more,, but diminishing returns... and true mid-fi does sound incredible already... that is having no weak links in that chain...

Yes, it will improve on a HD449, I'm sure, more of course with the HD6XX. I looked at separates and combos in this price range, and chose the R-2R 11, not disappointed, but elated with the sound at the price point, review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzr2efjAaU8

It should run it fine. Impedence is one thing to look at, the other is sound pressure or something. This is why in theory you can drive it off your phone and how the Fostex t50rp requires allot of power even though it is 50 ohms.

DeyDeyI've heard about some headphones (like the HIFIMAN HE4xx I think) which, since they're using a different technology, the impedence value is a bit tricky. But since the HD6xx/650 are well-known headphones, I was especially worried about having wasted money since, right now, I couldnt afford buying new gear (and yes that might be a mistake on my side, but I always had ~32 ohms headphones until now)

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup
Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
