Gaming headphones?

more_vert
I'm sure this has been asked before, but it's not easy sorting through all this. Anyhow, I like to game on a PC and my Ps4 and I am not a fan of headsets. I currently have a HE-400 which worked very well, until the cord broke and I replaced it with a cheap brand and it doesn't seem to sound as well anymore. And honestly, they are quite heavy to be wearing too long. So, I've been looking into a new set of cans. And this time I think I would like closed back headphones. Any recommendations for anything less than $200? Something with a little bass, but not too much. I also listen to a lot of electronic music if that matters, but I'm really looking into something that works best for gaming. Also, how about a DAC/headphone amp recommendation? Also within the $200 range. Thanks!

the k7xx is widely regarded as one of the best for competitive gaming
Closed back for gaming. I don't see that request very much. Mostly because gamers have their own room, etc. and loud leak is not an issue. Light, openback headphones that everyone loves for gaming because of the wide soundstage is the K7XX. Closed back, for gaming. People recommend the Beyerdynamic DT series.

erickongIt's true, I'm not worried about sound leaks. I just thought, and correct me if I'm wrong, that there might be better bass and deeper sounds with closed back cans. It's been awhile since I've had closed back honestly.
SperkoThe Fostex-THXX has dope bass, its closed back. The HD58X has good bass also and its open back. The fostex has more rumble
