There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

1T olive oil 1 lb ground turkey 1 large sweet onion 4 large garlic cloves 2 T chili powder of choice 2 T ketchup 1 t worcestershire 1/2 t instant espresso powder 2 28 oz cans kidney beans (or black beans) 1 15 oz can fire roasted tomato with green chiles 1/2 cup water or stock salt and pepper to taste
Heat the oil in a large pot, add the turkey and brown. Add diced onion and sprinkle with salt to soften. Cook until onion is soft, then add garlic. Cook a minute or two until quite fragrant. Add the spices and other flavorings and cook a few minutes. Add the tomato, beans, and water then bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes to reduce. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
My technique kind of overseasons the meat so that it has a good flavor, then adjust the seasoning for the beans and soup after some has come out of the meat.
Serve with sour cream, scallion, avocado, cheese or any other topping you like. Bonus ingredient plan: render some bacon before cooking the turkey in the fat. Add the bacon back at the end or as a topping.
