Any blowtorch users?

Not the butane creme brulee ones. The propane ones for welding.

Use it for cooking besides sous vide? I've used it on stir-fry to expedite and add extra flavor and texture. Also blistered peppers, tomatoes, onions. Easy to set off a flambé. Any other ideas?

I will use it on the side of the mixer bowl with the mixer running to warm up buttercream, or warm butter if it curdles if your eggs are to cold when you add them.
I love the TS200 you can pick up at almost all hardware stores. You can click it on and off or lock it on but you don't have to stop what you are doing to turn the knob to shut off the gas.

Works great on patted-dry shellfish or to light pesky pilot lights ;) - these are also way more efficient to light charcoal for a binchotan grill if you're into that kind of stuff.

justinkhannaOh yeah, I totally take my torch camping, easiest way to light stuff by far. Works great on fireworks too!
As for food, they'll work in a pinch for smores!

I use mine to set egg whites when I am frying an egg and they are taking too long to set. This helps prevent overcooking the yolk.
