There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

ie french press: mild taste, 4min, 1min unscrew and scrub
My standard recipe is 24g med-fine grind in an inverted AeroPress Wit the plunger at the lowest edge of the 4 circle. Add water at 200 degrees to cover, bloom 30s, add water to fill half the remaining space, stir, brew 60s, add water to near the top, stir 10x, cap, swirl, flip, plunge.
Cleanup is just popping out the puck and a quick swish of water.
It sounds complicated but it’s a fast way to get a great cup of coffee in the office. No more forgetting about that French press and coming back an hour later to cold and bitter coffee.
So, I wake up, turn it on, take a shower and get ready for my day. Grinding (by weight with a scale) takes about 15 seconds, extraction of a double espresso takes 26-30 seconds. I either drink that, or will add 4-6oz of water for an Americano.
Cleanup is knocking the puck out of the portafilter, rinsing with water and turning machine off. Granted, it's not the cheapest setup but it's been my go-to for nearly a decade so I'd say it's paid itself off nicely
I do a medium-fine grind with my hand bur grinder. I add one scoop to the AeroPress after wetting the filter with cold water. I then add hot water to the number 2 and sitr for 10 seconds. Then let sit for 20 seconds. Then add water to the number 4 and stir for 10 seconds. Place plunger just on top so to block air and keep liquid from escaping. Then let sit for 25 seconds. Then plunge down all the way with medium force.
Simple, and delicious!
