Can we start a Hunting/Shooting/Gun community?

more_vert
I think having such a community would be a great addition to what we currently have and would have some overlap with the EDC community.

LOVE your idea, as part of my daily EDC is a handgun, along with a knife and decent Tactical flashlight. However, in this current environment, I see MANY firearms related videos, websites, et al just going away because folks are offended by the mere thought of a firearm. My opinion is tempered by the fact that I reside in a State where we have a State generated list of firearms we can purchase - I'm not even going to discuss the licensing requirements here. All that being said, put me down as a Yes vote on your subject!

Well, our and California's gun laws are where things are heading, if these mass shootings continue. Frankly, I'm just fine with what I have.... I've learned to practice practice with the firearms I do have. I was stationed with the USAF in TX....I couldn't believe that pawn shops sold guns! THAT'S just weird.

ColinsdadYeah we can get guns in pawn shops. To be honest tho I really do like that. You can get some superb deals on used guns that way. They still have to follow federal law so IMO it's perfectly fine. I'm sick of this notion that the media endorses that guns are the issue. The issue doesn't lie with guns it lies with our culture and IMO lack of education in low income areas leading to increased rates of violence for those communities. We also need to take a good strong look at improving our mental health situation.

Optics seem like one shooting/hunting related area that would really lend itself to the Massdrop model - a multitude of products (scopes, red-dots, spotting scopes, binoculars, etc), across a wide spectrum of pricing and quality, with some cross-over to the non-hunting types (i.e. bird watching, photography). Lots of opportunities out there for range accessories (bags, gun cases, eye/ear pro, etc) and hunting footwear/apparel too!

There might be trouble with actual firearms as I believe Massdrop is Commiefornia based with warehousing in NJ and they likely don't have reason to get an FFL. That said, everything that isn't a firearm would likely be fair game.

AngryAccountantAirsofts or Super Soakers? Aren't Super Soakers banned in San Fran?

AngryAccountantI'm not necessarily asking for actual firearm sales. I would even be happy with accessories that are legally able to be sold all over the country.

I would be in favor of this ONLY IF IT WAS ACTIVELY MODERATED BY AN INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM THAT REALLY UNDERSTANDS FIREARMS! (Yes, I know I'm "shouting"!)
Otherwise there is such a "community". It's called AR(F)-15.com, where the ignorant fiercely defend their ignorance and engage in epic flame wars of Trumpian Twitter magnitude!
Just my $0.02, respectfully submitted.
