Photo of the Week

more_vert
I try to find reasons/excuses to get out of the house one day each week to take pictures. Intentionally looking for opportunities to try new things, and that new thing could be equipment, location, subject, technic, or a combination of them.
Figured I could start a thread where each of us could share a single picture that we are most proud of that given week.

And here's my entry for this week:
Taken at the Great Meadow Park at Fort Mason in San Francisco. First day out with my Leica M Monochrom Typ 246, trying to get a hang of shooting without color.

This week astrophotography is the theme. Yes, it is an outhouse.

Spent 2 hours staked out on the fringe of a storm last night trying to capture some lightning. Nikon D7000's built-in intervalometer was set to take an exposure every 30 seconds. Once the sun set the shutter speed was slowed to 20 seconds. In the neighborhood of 160 images, only 17 captured lightning in frame, of those only 3 were sort of interesting. But combine all 17 into a single image, and it looks like I risked my life on this trip. LOL
