I'm very happy to see the gmk involvement in the mechanical keyboard world, but sincerely I don't think that I will buy this one: I will wait for a 75% standard version, if it will ever be available, or for a 100% keyboard in iso uk layout. I appreciate particularly the fact that there is a new software which will allow to customize each keypress, this is really fantastic. What I don't like about the new keyboard: - completely incompatible with existing keysets because it has a non standard bottom row, and because pgup, pgdown etc belong to a different row - it's only 20mm smaller that a tkl with standard keycaps. To save 20mm you lose compatibility with all existing keysets. - incompatible with all the existing cases in the market - you can't use the keycaps bundled with the keyboard on any other keyboard, and this is really a shame Personally I'd like more if they could sell a 75% keyboard with standard keycaps; with each keyboard they could also bundle extra keys to cover a 100% standard layout: you add about 20 keys, with an increase of the price of less than 10 usd, but with an enormous benefit to the user.

GiorgioLiterally every GMK set ever made should work with this..... You must be smoking some crazy shit to want to replace a GMK set with an off the shelf set like Tai hao

GiorgioYou are able to get the Q100 already from GMK, and it comes in ISO.
It is compatible with basically every GMK set made. We are doing an audit of sets and will probably put them in a small pack that will be available for cheap as well. Very few sets are not compatible though. Many custom SP sets are compatible as well.
Yes, it is incompatible with all cases on the market. This is one of the highest quality cases on the market, so I can't possibly see why anyone would spend the money on this board just to swap the case. This is also a brand new layout, there are always firsts. 95% of true custom boards have proprietary cases though. When you design a case to fit "stock" size cases, you really loose a lot of freedom, which is why no true custom uses a generic case.
Adding a key generally adds $1 as well, and adding $20 to a board is significant enough that we did not want to force that upon everyone.

livingspeedbumpFor all its merits, chief of these being its fullsized layout, the Q100 is ugly and ungainly compared with this Q70. If it lost the flab i would finallly have the keyboard i am looking for.

mjl2009I personally love the Q100. I think it definitely looks best with a few keycap sets, but with silver/wood and a good set it can be a very unique and gorgeous keyboard!
