As a freelance editor specializing in military, weapon-centric, and action genres, I burn through a lot of pens particularly red, blue and black. I am one of a few "old school" editors accepting paper manuscripts. A lot of my editing is done for other editors, who contract me ensuring they did not miss any edits - especially if they are not familiar with my specialty. Many times I have to use another color (green is especially one of my favorites) to differentiate my edits from the other editor. Most of the paper used is not FP friendly causing excessive bleed through.

My favorite pens are the Pilot G2 gel pen in 0.7mm tip. These are my go to pens for editing work. For general writing on non-FP friendly paper, my favorite pens are Paper Mate Liquid Expresso in extra fine.

sallenHave you ever considered a multi pen? Sounds like you regularly use several different colored inks, but you might go through cartridges quickly.

jeaninesI do quickly burn through quite a few cartridges; which is one of the reasons I like being able to refill some of the fountain pen cartridges, or use a converter. Can't refill the gel pen refills unfortunately, but I don't mind as I do get a lot of writing done. I use a Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 5 color gel pen for some of my editing, especially if it is a group effort where each editor is responsible for an area depending on our expertise (I.E. - I would edit all of the military jargon, weapon use, etc.). I have looked at other multi gel pens such as the Lamy 2000, but like the Pilot so far the best. I would love it if Massdrop offered a Pilot Hi-Tec-C multi gel pen with refills at a decent price (hint, hint).

sallenYou should create a poll for it. Massdrop loves to choose their next drops from community interest.

sallenI recently fell down the rabbit hole of refillable Montblanc rollerball/fineliner cartridges (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3crIqTChlns). Vid's a little long, but definitely worth a look if you already have FP ink. You may still get bleed through, but some fast-drying Noodler's inks might remedy that. A few caveats... I'm still using up the original ink in my Montblanc cartridge, so I haven't been able to try it myself (I'll try to remember to report back once I do). Also, I had to slightly shave off the cap of the Montblanc cartridge to fit my pen (it was made to take a Pilot G2 cartridge), but I have removed the cap. Finally, I don't write as much as you do, so you might be refilling the cartridges more than you'd like. Hopefully this helps! -Jeff
