MegazineLove that you're pulling out the Rakim... I think the best description of him was something like the following "Rakim, your favorite rapper's favorite rapper!"

ElectronicVicesThank you! Yes, he heavily influenced Nas and I believe Eminem. Plus more. I think Nas took the whole science approach and jazz elements from Rakim.

MegazineI like the list. Your thoughts on Mos Def - Black on Both sides and Public Enemy - It takes a Nation of Millions?

mindhead1Hmm what's this! Watching your video as I respond. I like some tracks from Mos Def growing up, like Ms. Fat Booty. Public Enemy I never put the time to listen to. I recently been listing to Naughty by Nature: Yoke the Joker (91'). Treach is a monster! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlBKGIPSb90

MegazineTreach is legit. The Mos Def and PE albums are in my list of all time greats. To make the list I have to love the album start to finish. I would also throw Ready to Die - Notorious BIG, Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J, The Chronic - Dr. Dre, Ill Communication - Beastie Boys and Fugess - The Score to that list.

mindhead1Nice list, seems your a 90's breed. Hip-hop today has left me behind; I have trouble getting into it - may be due to lyrics no longer at the forefront. Every now and then, a youngling appreciates the old formula and crafts something special. A few years ago Blue was born and gave us "Below the Heavens". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUKc0lz7SNs&list=PL486254D04B96B85C&index=2
