Help with annoying springy sound

more_vert
I have recently become a happy owner of the PLUM 87 Electro-Capacitive Keyboard. I own a couple of cherry MX keyboard (brown and blue) but the Plum is now my favorite.
After about one week of use an issue appeared. The "enter" key started making this annoying springy sound. I tried removing the extra spring that I installed before, but the issue remains. Here is a sample of the sound it makes:
All other keys work fine.
Does anyone else have a similar issue? Do you know what might be causing this issue? My guess is the spring under the membrane, but that's really just a guess...
I will be grateful for any tips you might give me.

Don't mean to bump an old thread, but I'm having the same exact issue with multiple keys, where the spring seems to maybe rattle under the dome. Once my BKE domes show up for the board, I'll take a closer look at it. Can you actually lube the springs themselves? I'll probably end up lubing the sliders, since there is quite a bit of "whistling" to the switches.

Thanks for the replies guys! @mattstermh I say go for it. I love mine and would definitely buy it again. @dinosaur_meat Yes it keeps making the sound even with the keycap removed. @yanfali I found a guide on youtube from the manufacturer that shows how to get inside and replace the membrane. I will look up the lubing videos (lol).

Yeah you'll definitely want to open it up. Those boards are typically very solid - you may need to lube, but that's shocking since I know it comes with really good lube.
There's an 84 version on eBay w/ RGB that I'm really tempted to get.

It sounds like the springs under the domes. If it bothers you that much you'll probably have to open the keeb and lube them. Search google for guides on lubing Electrostatic switch keyboards.

It makes that noise even with the keycap off? I'd definitely try to open it up and see if the spring under the membrane needs to be reseated.
