Daily "new products" email subject lines | First, many of us...

ltopperI thought that I said it, but... ALL emails are from the same email address... daily "new products", "items are back", etc.
The subject lines last week were just fine, but they changed Thursday or Friday.
Please just change them back! All that's needed is each subject line to begin with "Massdrop New Products" and then all you want.

FearlessleaderSo you are a unique human in that the preference of most people is to have only the product names in the subject line so that they can tell whether or not they want to open the email that day.
What if you tried creating a filter which uses the sender info@i.massdrop.com AND includes the words "new drops from the" see the example here:

This seemed to work for me. Does you email client support it?

just start each subject line with same 2-3 words (like it used to be) and problem solved. And you can then even sort by subject!
it wasn’t broken, so why change it to make it worse?

FearlessleaderOnly because "worse" is subjective. What was perfect for you, was opened at a lower rate by the majority of people on Massdrop.
Are you open to trying to setup the other filter?

ltopperFirst, many of us open emails with "loading images" turned off purposely to stop being tracked.
Here's an older subject line:
Hi Fearlessleader! Announcing New Products: AKG K181 DJ UE Reference Class Headphones, Massdrop x AKG K7XX Audiophile Headphones, SMSL M6 DAC/Amp
and here's the new one
Advanced Sound Alpha Planar Headphones, NuForce uDAC-3 DAC/Amp Combo, Just Mobile HeadStand Avant and more...
You'll notice that the older one DID have the names of new drops listed --- and just began with something that was (a) sortable and (b) filterable.
i.e. The new way is NOT better, even for you. It is ONLY worse for us.

You're totally right - many people do have image blockers turned on, which definitely can make it so that the signal we read in the ab test could have been inaccurate.
The test also indicated that retention and visit days to the massdrop site increased in the group with the new subject line.
I wish everyone looked for the subject line the same way you do and was as remarkably dedicated as you are to the experience and improving it for yourself and others. Sadly, according to the data the majority of people prefer (as measured by increased retention) the new subject line and thus we've kept it.
I agree that the new subject line does not afford for easy sorting. And with that, I've asked engineering to set you up with the old subject line since we still have the code. Let me know if everything is back to normal tomorrow!

Is it just me or was this place much better when it was Massdrop? Instead of expensive collaborations, it was all about finding good deals that got better with more participation. Anyone know if this place will ever revert to those times or if there are any other sites that might be doing what this site stopped doing?

Do products in the same order ship together if they have different shipping estimates?

I bought an order that consisted of products that were ready to ship on Feb 13 and March 29. Will they ship all together on March 29 or will they be split and the orders that are ready to ship earlier ship on Feb 13?
